La festividad de San Valentín que comenzó siendo una festividad romana, pasó a ser religiosa y en la actualidad está instaurada en la sociedad de consumo como el Día de los Enamorados y la Amistad. Fue una mujer norteamericana Esther Howland quien diseñó tarjetas de regalo con motivos románticos y dibujos de enamorados alrededor del año 1840. Vendiéndolas por unos centavos en la librería que regentaba su padre en Worcester, Massachusetts. Convirtiendo su idea en todo un éxito que perdura hasta nuestros días.

St. Valentine began as a Roman festival and then continued as a Cristian celebration.  Nowadays it is a day to celebrate Love and Friendship.  It was an American woman, Esther Howland who designed gift cards showing romantic motifs and drawings of lovers circa 1840. She sold them for pennies in the bookshop run by her father in Worcester, Massachusetts. Turning her idea into a success that endures to this day.

TUTORIAL DE TARJETA CON CORAZONES DE CROCHET / CARD WITH CROCHET HEARTS TUTORIAL

En primer lugar debéis haceros una fotografía y con el editor fotográfico que utilicéis habitualmente la transformáis en blanco/negro para que los corazones rojos resalten mucho más. Insertáis un mensaje o lo rotuláis a mano y la imprimís en una cartulina o papel fotográfico.

Firstly, take a photograph and using an editor program save it in black and white format.  Insert a message and print it.  Once we place the red hearts on this card you will see how they will stand out more.  

Make the hearts. We have made 2 big hearts and 7 small ones.

Para el corazón pequeño se teje una sola vuelta. Para el corazón grande 2 vueltas.

VUELTA INICIAL: Anillo mágico.
VUELTA 1: Tejemos dentro del anillo mágico, 2 c.a.d. de subida 3 p.a 3 p.m. 1 p.a. 3 p.m. 3 p.a. 1 c.a.d. y 1 p.c.
VUELTA 2: Tejemos 2 p.b, 2 p.m. juntos, 2 p.m. juntos, 3 p.b., 1 c.a.d. 1 p.a. y 1 c.a.d. en el extremo inferior del corazón, 3 p.b., 2 p.m. juntos, 2 p.m. juntos, 2 p.b. y con 1 p.c. en la vuelta anterior.

Rematar con una aguja lanera y cortar el hilo sobrante.

Pegar a la tarjeta con pegamento.

ROW 2:  2 sc, 2 hdc together, 2 hdc together, 3 sc, 1 ch, 1 dc  and 1 ch in the lower end of the heart, 3 sc, 2 hdc together, 2 hdc  together, 2 sc  and con 1 sl st.

Fasten off with a wool needle

Stick to the card using glue.
